Study 7/8 units from the management subjects listed below to achieve the Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership. This is the benchmark qualification for full CMI membership, taking you another step towards Chartered Manager status, and is designed for middle managers and those aspiring to senior management who want to develop their key skills.

This course is suitable for managers and leaders who report to a senior manager or business owner and requires 370 hours study across a range of units in varying management disciplines.
You will have access to your course materials via an online learning portal, as well as an experienced and friendly tutor who will offer guidance, support and advice. Your tutor will liaise with you in advance of starting the course to ascertain the best unit(s) for you to study, based on your desired outcome. Some unit combinations are not allowed, due to content duplication. Your tutor will be able to advise further.

You will receive a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership.
There are no specific entry requirements but students must be 19 years old.
Choose a combination of the following units to achieve a minimum total of 370 hours.
Please note: learners studying unit 502 cannot combine their studies with the following units: 503, 505 or 511.
Learners studying unit 526 cannot also select units 501 or 502.
Immediately After Enrolment
Upon completion of enrolment with Open Study College, you will be required to go through a secondary application process. This is just a formality and involves completing and signing a course application form. Once completed you will be required to arrange an induction interview with your allocated course tutor who will help you to choose the study units which best suit your requirements.
You will be assessed on each unit studied, based on criteria set out by your tutor. All assessments will be submitted via your tutor.
The course must be completed in a maximum of 12 months. You will need to complete a minimum of 370 hours of study time required to achieve the level 5 diploma. Studying the provided course materials at a speedier pace could lead to completing the course in less than 12 months.
This course is offered on a distance learning basis, with access to required study materials and unlimited support from your personal tutor via email. Study at your own pace, wherever and whenever you choose.
At the end of this course, successful learners will receive a CMI Level 5 Diploma in Management and Leadership, awarded by Chartered Management Institute (CMI). You will also be eligible for CMI membership and be one step closer to Chartered Manager status.
CMI is a specialist awarding organisation that offers a wide range of qualifications in management and leadership, coaching and mentoring and professional consulting. They are regulated by four regulators: Ofqual in England, CCEA in Northern Ireland, the Qualifications Wales in Wales and the Scottish Qualification Authority (SQA) in Scotland.
