Expert tutor support

Sally has over 35 years’ experience in the Early Years sector, working as a practitioner and lecturer in Childcare and Education. She has a degree in Early Years and Childhood Studies and a number of professional teaching and mentoring qualifications. On top of this, she has had several senior management roles held within Nurseries and CACHE Childcare courses in Further Education Colleges so she has a well rounded knowledge within the childcare sector. She also has held roles assessing and tutoring apprenticeships.

Dennis Immanuel has written and tutors our Fashion Styling Diploma. With 10 years’ experience in the industry, Dennis started as a fashion designer with his own contemporary urban fashion label. He then went on to design wardrobes for Bollywood films and TV, with known brands. Dennis also founded graduate fashion platform Witty Muse and is a public speaker, tutor and guest lecturer.

Dr Ben Williams has worked in education for over 20 years at both further and higher levels, teaching at various colleges and universities as well as providing online tutoring support. He completed his PhD at the University of Liverpool between 2009 and 2013 and has written for a range of books, magazines, blogs and journals covering British and global politics. He has also worked with politicians at the Houses of Parliament in a research capacity.

Kathryn has over 25 years’ experience in education as class teacher, head of an Early Years Unit, Deputy Head of school, LA advisory teacher, line manager and mentor to teachers and support staff. She became a tutor at Open Study College to share this knowledge and support those who work or want to work with children and young people.

Shirley has 20 years’ experience working in the veterinary profession as a veterinary nurse. She was a mentor and trainer to student veterinary nurses working in the practice and was also Head Nurse for a short while before moving into the educational sector. She enjoyed teaching so much she took the decision to teach animal related courses at an FE college. After starting a family she is now working remotely tutoring students at Open Study College.

Mukesh has 17 years’ experience as a Crime Scene Examiner/photographer, working on a number of high profile national and international cases, including terrorism, murder, Arson and Collision investigation. Trained and experienced in the recovery of evidence covertly when dealing with live crime. After moving on from his career, he is now a qualified teacher, working at KS3, KS4, and often volunteering at KS2.

Having cross sector experience in Early Years, Education, and Health and Social Care sectors, Kerry decided to use her experience to support others. She progressed and gained qualifications in Teaching, Assessing, and Internal Quality Assurance. She has been working in the FE sector for 16 years and 11 of those have been distance learning. She thoroughly enjoys her role in guiding and supporting students.
