Course overview

A nanny works closely with one or more families to look after children. Nannies tend to care for children full time and it’s their responsibility to create daily activities that will benefit a child’s learning and development.

Our CACHE Level 3 Award in Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare will prepare and equip students with everything they need to know to become a nanny.

Study safeguarding, understand the role of play in a child’s development and recognise the expectation required for the role of a nanny.

Assessment

You will be assessed by handing in assignments to your tutor for marking. You will need to complete two assignments.

There is no external examination required, so all your course can be completed from home.

Course Duration

Your course should take around 50 hours to complete but, you have 1 full year to complete your course. During this time, you will have access to tutor support through email.

Study Method

As this is a knowledge-only qualification, you are not required to be on placement. Instead, you can study your course pretty much anywhere you like. Whether that’s curled up on your sofa or in your favourite coffee shop, as long as you have your course materials – you can study!
