Open Study College are proud to have donated £50,000 to Macmillan Cancer Support over the last 6 years. Being one of the biggest corporate donors in the Midlands, the College is delighted that the money raised can pay for a Macmillan nurse for a year, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
Open Study College raises £50,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
“We just wanted to say thank you to all of our students for helping us to help Macmillan.”
– Samantha Rutter, Open Study College
The money raised is thanks to the College’s charity enrolment scheme. For every course sold £1.00 is donated to Macmillan. With the growing amount of people now choosing to study by distance learning, means the amount being raised has thrived.
On 30th September, staff got together to join in with The World’s Biggest Coffee morning. All colleagues donated £5 or more to Macmillan which allowed them a slice of cake and a cup of tea. Staff even came dressed in their most garish and clashing clothes and took part (attempted to) in The Great Open Study College Bake Off to participate in this worthwhile event.
“We’re delighted with the support from staff and students at Open Study College over the last 6 years.”
– Emily Morgan, Macmillan Cancer Support
Open Study College would also like to thank anyone that has helped us smash our fundraising target and donated money!
