Happy Chinese New Year of the Pig

February 5, 2019

Happy Chinese New Year! According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2019 is the Year of the Pig. If you were born in 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983 or 1995, you’re a pig!
We’ve looked at the characteristics of people born in the Year of the Pig, and some of the courses that may be suited to them.

Naive and gullible

Pigs don’t have a suspicious nature, and therefore can be easily fooled. To counteract this trait, how about our Private Investigation Level 3 course? Students will learn about the history, legalities, practicalities and types of investigation. Be fooled no more!

Tolerant and patient

Pigs are gentle and rarely lose their temper. They are patient and want the best for everyone. They sound like perfect teacher material, to us! How about our nationally recognised CACHE accredited award in Support Work in Schools and Colleges? CACHE (the Council of Awards in Care, Health and Education) are the UK’s leading awarding organisation for the childcare and social care sectors. Or achieve an LRN Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training, which is equivalent to the second year of an Undergraduate degree

Fun seeking and indulgent

Pigs generally have good health, but they do like to indulge in eating and drinking, whilst not being particularly active. To counteract this, pigs might consider becoming more aware of nutrition, health and weight, with our Nutrition Consultant and Weight Management course. It could even become a new career!

Compassionate and understanding

These characteristics are key to becoming a successful counsellor. Those seeking therapy or counselling need to feel that their problems are being handled with empathy and sensitivity. Coupled with the tolerance and patience mentioned above, this means that Pigs would be well suited to this type of career. Perhaps starting with an Introduction to Counselling course, or specialising in a certain aspect of counselling like grief or addiction.

Diligent and hardworking

Pigs are very responsible individuals, who think logically. They’re very determined and devote all their energy to achieve goals they set for themselves. With that in mind, pigs are ideal distance learning students in any subject they choose! Why not browse over 500 courses on our website and see which ones appeal to you?

How about learning the language?
