Aneta is originally from Poland, where she achieved a bachelor’s degree in special education. She has spent the past 15 years working in the healthcare sector and has studied many related subjects since coming to the UK, including Adult and Social Care, End of Life Care, as well as courses to train others in first aid in mental health, manual handling, first aid and health & safety.
Wanting to give her best to the people in her care led to Aneta enrolling on a Psychology course. Aneta works with people with disabilities, mental health issues and those who are dying so, for her, a psychology course is a way to learn and understand more about people and support those individuals even better.
Aneta told us “I knew I wanted to study but that it wouldn’t be possible in the traditional way. I have two young children, aged 1 and 2. I often work weekends and my husband works long hours too. Physically being able to attend a college wasn’t an option.”
Aneta came across Open Study College and felt that the flexibility offered by distance learning would suit her lifestyle. She did some more research, saw the positive reviews, and enrolled on our Level 2 Introduction to Psychology course.

Aneta plans to study further in the future and would also like to train other people in the health care sector.

“I honestly think it’s absolutely amazing that people can study whatever their age or status. I love studying; it makes me happy knowing that the knowledge I gain will help others in the future. I thought, because of my young children, I would have to wait many years to be able to follow my dreams, but OSC has enabled me to continue my education and reach for my ambitions.
