Course overview

AI is becoming a huge part of our lives developing faster than we think.

It’s being used in medicine to spot cancer cells, courtrooms to help determine the risk of criminals re-offending, as well as in art to create new music from analysing composers like Brahms!

For those computer wizzes, this Artificial Intelligence course is perfect to keep teenagers’ brains challenged, engaged and of course playful!

Anyone can study this course but it has been especially designed for those aged 13-17, with a keen interest in modern technology, coding or artificial intelligence. This course will give kids a whole new range of skills that will set them up brilliantly for future employment and education.

They will delve into the issues of computer bias, create a home of the future using Artificial Intelligence and discover how to program an autonomous vehicle!

Course requirements

There are a number of requirements needed before you or your child enrol onto this course. Recommended for 13-17  year olds.

Computer requirements

A basic laptop from the last 5 years will be sufficient. You will need to have your own device in order to connect to our online learning platform. We recommend the
following PCs are suitable:
● MacOS
○ MacOS 10.12 or later
○ All intel based Macbooks and iMacs since 2015
○ 8GB RAM
○ min 1GB available storage
○ webcam
● Windows Device
○ Windows 7 or later
○ Using Intel i3 (i5 recommended) since 2013
○ 8GB RAM
○ Min 1gb storage space available
○ webcam
If you do not have a computer that meets the computer requirements, we can provide a cloud-based solution for most courses. This will give you access to a high-spec computer via the cloud, meaning you simply use a very basic device that can access the internet and has a screen, keyboard and mouse. Internet speed of 15mbps connection or better is recommended. If you can stream YouTube videos full screen without buffering and it looks good then you’re good to go!

 

Study Method

This course will be studied through distance learning online. Learn when and wherever you can, as long as you have access to internet. All of the course will be available online, so receiving your materials is easy.

Students will work independently at their own pace through learning materials and assignments, and will also receive tutor support via email and telephone.

Assessment

All of the course is housed on an online learning platform. There are a number of tasks to complete and an informal quiz to test skills learnt.

Course Outcome

Students will understand and be able to develop AI. Once they have finished the course, your profile with XP (Experience Points) will be sent by email.

Lead Teachers have a strong background in education coupled with technical expertise in the area they teach. They are supported by course Instructors, who are most frequently talented Computer Science and Engineering students. All our instructors undergo in-person training in the curriculum of the course and in Child Safety Policies.

We select our instructors on technical expertise but also for great communication
skills and a real passion for their subject.
