In February 2024, Helen decided she needed a career change. She chose to start an online learning journey with Open Study College to expand her skillset and find a career she truly loved.
Helen’s story is a familiar one. So many people find themselves in careers they don’t genuinely enjoy or feel fulfilled doing.

Transitioning from a career in customer service to marketing
“I’ve never really had a clear idea of what I wanted to do career-wise, until one day I asked myself, “Am I actually happy with my current job?” and the honest answer was no.
"I wasn’t fulfilled, and I knew I needed a change. I’ve always been a creative person, and marketing has always stood out to me as something I’d naturally enjoy and be good at.
"After a bit of research and soul-searching, I realised that a course in digital marketing would not only let me explore my creative side but also open doors to a more exciting and dynamic career."

Starting again can seem like a really daunting task, but it doesn’t have to be.
You can even learn alongside working, maintaining an income while building a new life for yourself. Reinventing yourself can actually be really fun too! The first place to start, just like Helen did, is to ask yourself, ‘Am I actually happy with my current job?’
