Merry Christmas to all our students
December 14, 2016 / Sharnie Carter
It’s that time of year when the Christmas decorations are up, festive songs are playing and we get together with family and friends. So, take a rest from your studying and enjoy a break – after all we know you deserve it, especially with what you’ve helped us achieve this year…
Awards, awards and more awards!
We were once again recognised as being one of the finest ICB training providers in the UK and were shortlisted for the fifth consecutive year for the ICB LUCA awards. With nominations in 3 different categories including: Large Accredited Training Provider of the Year, Tutor of the Year and Student of the Year, we are thrilled that all our hard work hasn’t gone un-noticed.
Co-founder Samantha Rutter also triumphed at The Corporate Vision 2016 Businesswomen Awards and carried away with her Best Distance Learning Leader 2016 and the college’s award for Excellence in Tutor Support.
Raising £50,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support
Over the last 6 years we have donated £1 to Macmillan for every course sold. And this year reached the £50,000 mark! With us being one of the biggest corporate donors in the Midlands, the College is delighted that the money raised can pay for a Macmillan nurse for a year, helping people living with cancer and their families receive essential medical, practical and emotional support.
We even took part in the World’s Biggest Coffee morning, were all staff took part in The Great Open Study College Bake Off and dressed up in our most garish and clashing clothes. Raising an extra £150 for the worthwhile charity.
Excellent pass rates
It’s great to see some amazing results this year, including our ICB students who achieved an average exam pass rate of 91.3%, with 70% of them being graded as Distinction and Merits. Your dedication to succeed has been amazing and we hope to see some more fantastic results in 2017.
Open Study College want to say a big thank you to all our students – we couldn’t have achieved everything we have this year without you!
