• Explain the fundamentals of digestion and the digestive system
• Explore the food combining system, and explore the extent to which this can be applied to real world diets
• Understand cravings, including what cravings really mean in a nutritional sense
• Explore some of the most common nutritional supplements and understand the circumstances under which they are useful
• Provide information on eating disorders and obesity
• Outline the fundamental principles of sports nutrition
• Broaden the students understanding of nutrition, providing a basis for more advanced practice and study
