Learners must achieve 15 credits from 3 mandatory units.

Course duration

You will have up to six months to complete your course. This allows you to study at your own pace, so whether you want to fast-track your course or study leisurely, this is entirely up to you.

Entry requirements

There are no specific entry requirements however, learners should have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy or numeracy or equivalent. This course is suitable for learners 18 years of age and above.

Study method

Students study the course online. All work is marked and assessed from within the learning platform with allowing tutors and learners to automatically notify each other when work has been completed.

Assessment

You will need to complete four assessments in total. You will need to show evidence of you as a trainee assessor carrying out at least two assessments of two learners.

In gathering evidence to complete the qualification, an unqualified trainee assessor is not allowed to assess competence in another unqualified assessor.

These assessments are to be observed by a self-appointed mentor from your own work or placement setting who holds a minimum of the Level 3 CAVA themselves.

Students on this qualification are also required to provide evidence of attending a standardisation meeting with colleagues.

Course outcome

On successful completion of your course and assessments, you will receive your Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement (CAVA) from TQUK. You will then be able to become a fully qualified assessor.
