What is garden design?
It is the process and art behind designing, laying out and planting breath-taking gardens and landscapes. A career in Garden Design can be a very exciting path to take. It’s likely that you will be passionate about the industry, and you want to channel your enthusiasm into a career you love.
What’s included in the course?
Our Garden Design Level 3 course allows you to study the theory behind creating dazzling landscapes and gardens:
- Learn the principles of garden design when creating formal and informal gardens
- Understand the importance of a site appraisal and how to plot the site
- Boost your knowledge of hard landscaping techniques, and the use of plants in soft landscaping
- Discover how to create gardens to meet specialist requirements such as gardens for children or adults with special needs
Once you have completed the course, you will have several options open to you. You may wish to use your new-found confidence to set up your own garden design business, or get a job in the horticultural industry. You may also wish to further your studies and go on to study horticulture at degree level in the future. If you need practical experience as well as the theory knowledge gathered from your course, you should consider volunteering at a local nursery or garden.
