Course Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this qualification, however students you should consider studying the NEBOSH National General Certificate in Health and Safety first.

You should also ensure you have a good grasp of English to ensure you understand the terminology within the course.

Study Method

You will study for your course entirely online and receive full tutor support through email.

The online portal makes learning more interactive with presentations, audio recordings and interactive modules.

Assessment

You will be assessed by 2 written exams and 1 workplace assessment.

Exams

There are 2 written exams you will need to sit. Both exams consist of 1 long answer questions and 10 short answer questions.

These are 2 hours long each and 1 exam will cover Unit NGC1 and 1 exam will cover Unit FC1.

Your exams will need to be sat at an approved exam centre. There are several spanning the UK in Bolton, Hull, Birmingham, Coventry, Bristol, London, Dublin, Belfast, Edinburgh and Aberdeen.

These take place in March, June, September and December of every year.

Workplace assessment

You will have to complete a workplace assessment. This can be carried out within your place of work. No external assessor is needed. The course content will give you what is needed for this assessment. Details of this will be released 3 weeks before your submission date.

You will need to pay an additional fee for your exams.

Course Outcome

If you are successful, you will receive your industry recognised NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management.

Completion of the course also allows you to gain AIOSH, TechIOSH, TIFPO and AIRSM membership.

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management course is delivered in association with SHEilds, NEBOSH centre 548.

Progression

The NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management is a specialised course but you can progress onto the NEBOSH National Diploma, Degree or Masters courses in a related subject.
