Please note that the Gti Anatomy and Physiology theory part of this course is to be studied online only with half a day attendance at a classroom session.
Before you attend your practical day, you will need to have completed the Gti Anatomy and Physiology theory part of this course. This is essential for your practical training day. This will cover all of the anatomy and physiology knowledge required for the Level 2 and 3 National Occupational Standards (NOS) for beauty, nails and holistic therapy treatments. This part of the course will take 30 hours to complete.
This course will be assessed through a series of written assignments, which will be sent and marked by your tutor. Your coursework must be completed before you can proceed onto the practical day.
You may start at any time and have a full year to complete your studies. This is more than enough time to give you flexibility and work at your own pace without the pressure of deadlines. Your practical day will last 6.5 hours.
The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. Students receive a course manual, assignments and tutor support for the home study part of the course. You will need to attend a practical training day in which you have a choice of a variety of centres to choose from throughout the UK.
At the end of this course successful learners will receive a Certificate of Achievement by ABC Awards and a Learner Unit Summary (This lists details of all the units you have completed as part of your course).
The course itself has been designed by Open Study College to meet specific learners’ or employers’ requirements. The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme. This means Open Study College have undergone external quality checks to ensure that the organisation and the courses’ it offers meet a high standard. The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification, but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. ABC Awards are a national awarding organisation that have years of experience in developing and awarding high quality vocational qualifications across a wide range of industries. They have a comprehensive portfolio of over 650 Ofqual regulated qualifications on the national Qualifications and Credit framework (QCF) for all ages and abilities post-14.
Your practical training will be accredited through the Hair and Beauty Industry Authority (HABIA) who set the standards for training for the UK. You will also receive a Certificate in Stone Therapy from Salon Services.
The Anatomy and Physiology theory part of this course will be accredited by The Guild of Beauty Therapists. Guild Accredited courses are recognised throughout the industry for their content and delivery. One you have completed this course and practical day you will be able to apply for full Guild membership and obtain insurance and membership from the Guild. This will enable you to carry out and charge for treatments on members of the public and include cover for over £6 million of treatment, public and product liability.
Th Anatomy and Physiology Theory part of this course will cover all of the anatomy and physiology knowledge required for the Level 2 and 3 National Occupational Standards (NOS) for beauty, nails and holistic therapy treatments. On successful completion of the Anatomy and Physiology theory part of this course you will receive a recognised certificate.
You will need to have completed your Gti Anatomy and Physiology course in order to progress onto your practical day. Pease note that the online Gti test for the Anatomy and Physiology theory does not currently run on some mobile devices such as iPhones and iPads and is not compatible with Google Chrome browsers. Once you have passed your written assignments and completed the Anatomy and Physiology part of this course, you may book your practical day. You have the choice of 3 centres to choose from to take your practical training day these include: Birmingham, Coventry and Leicester.
