GCSE Foundation Spanish is a great starting point if you're new to the language.
The AQA specification focuses on developing essential language skills and your understanding of culture. You’ll explore three key themes while working with grammar suited to the foundation level.

Throughout the course, you’ll receive guidance from a dedicated tutor, including up to nine one-to-one sessions to support your preparation for the speaking exam.
Please note: This is a foundation tier course, meaning the highest GCSE grade you can achieve is a 5. If you're aiming for a grade between 4 and 9, you may want to consider the higher tier course instead.

You will have one year's unlimited tutor support during your studies.
To achieve your GCSE Spanish qualification, you must complete all the formal examinations. This will include 3 written exams for the writing, reading and listening components and a speaking assessment which will take place annually in the May/June exam series.
Throughout your course, you will have the opportunity to submit tutor marked assignments, which are comprised of exam-style questions to give you an opportunity to practice the type of question you should expect to answer in an exam. In addition to this, you will have the chance to conduct sessions with your tutor to practice the speaking assessment component. This will comprise of practice sessions to discuss the tasks with your tutor and then a full run through session- during this session, your tutor will grade you to give you an idea of the level you are working at.

Full tutor support will be available via email. You will also receive support via video call to prepare for your speaking assessment.
Once you successfully complete your exams, you’ll be awarded the GCSE Foundation Spanish qualification, with an official certificate issued by AQA.
Please note: As a foundation tier course, you can achieve a GCSE grade between 1-5, compared to the higher tier course, which covers grades 4-9.
Yes, this GCSE course is the same as the GCSEs you would study at a traditional school. The only difference is that this course is designed to be studied from home and you receive full tutor support via email.
You will need to take the official GCSE French Foundation exams to achieve the full qualification.
This will include 3 written exams for the writing, reading and listening components and a speaking assessment which will take place annually in the May/June exam series.
While you are formally assessed by examination, you will also need to submit tutor-marked assignments to allow your tutor to monitor your progress and help you achieve the best grade possible.
If you add on the exams, you will need to sit the examinations in one of the following locations and we will book these for you when you are ready:
Whilst we hope you achieve your desired grade; you can re-sit your exam in the next available exam series. Please note that re-sits come at an additional cost.
If you choose not to add on exams, you will need to book and pay for these yourself.
