Entry requirements

You must be aged 18 or above to enrol on this course. Learners must provide evidence of completion of a marketing qualification at level 3 or above, or evidence of professional practice (suggested one year in a marketing role). If English is not your first language, you will need to have obtained a suitable English qualification in the last two years.

You will have 18 months to complete the course, which will take approximately 510 hours to complete.

This course will be studied entirely via distance learning, allowing you to learn at your own pace. You can study from anywhere that is convenient for you, whether that’s from home, work, on your commute, or even your local coffee shop, it is completely up to you.

You will have the option to study online, or we can post a printed study pack out to you. If you choose to study online, your login details will be emailed to you.

You will also receive support from your personal tutor via email, so help is only ever a click away. Your tutor will have both knowledge and experience in the marketing industry, so please make sure you contact them to ask for any support you need as they will be able to provide you with the guidance you are looking for.

To achieve the full qualification, you must complete one multiple-choice online test and two written assignments.

Applied Marketing – external assessment: an online test comprising of multiple-choice questions. This will be completed only under controlled, invigilated conditions.

Planning Campaigns – external assessment: a written assignment based on a theme and an organisation of choice.

Digital Marketing Techniques – external assessment: a written assignment based on a theme and an organisation of choice.

Upon successful completion of this course, you will be awarded a CIM Level 4 Certificate in Professional Digital Marketing.

When you enrol on this course, you must also become a CIM member, allowing you to benefit from membership status and the perks available. When you become a studying member, you will have access to a wealth of materials to assist with your studies, including research, articles, journals, and an ebook library. You will also have the opportunity to work towards becoming a chartered marketer as your studies progress, allowing you to further demonstrate your commitment to your career. Please note that CIM Studying Membership is £65 for the year.

No. You will complete a multiple-choice online test for the Applied Marketing module and submit a written assignment for the Planning Campaigns and Customer Insights modules.

At the end of the Applied Marketing module, you will be assessed via a multiple-choice online test. The assessment will take place in a controlled environment under invigilated conditions.

The Planning Campaigns and Customer Insights modules will be assessed through a written assignment. The assignment brief will be released six months prior to the assessment period, allowing you time to work through the module’s course materials and prepare your assignment.

CIM holds three assignment periods each year, during these periods students can complete their online tests or submit their assignments. These periods are in March/April, June/July, and December.

Yes, you will need to purchase CIM membership separately which is £65 per year for CIM Studying Membership. This will give you access to a wealth of online articles, journals, and ebooks to help you with your studies.

You will also need to pay for your assessments through CIM’s booking system located on their online membership portal. The total assessment fee for this qualification is £220 which will be paid directly to CIM when booking your assessments. Please note, additional fees will be incurred if resits are taken.
