This course measures your understanding of the key concepts and material through portfolio work and worksheets carried out as you continually progress throughout the course. You will have a worksheet assignment at the end of unit 1 and a case study assignment at the end of unit 2.

Course Duration

This course will take approximately 36 hours to complete. Students will receive a full year to complete the course, which is a lot more time than you will need. This allows you to work at your own pace, without the pressure of tight deadlines.

Course Outcomes

At the end of this course successful learners will receive an ActiveIQ Level 3 Award in Designing Exercise Programmes for Older Adults (qualification accreditation number (QCF) 601/1148/3). This means that you will achieve a level 3 qualification on The Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. In addition, you will earn 20 CPD point for REPs membership.

What skills do I need to enrol on this course?

In order to enrol on the course you will need to have completed one of the following:

  • Level 2 Certificate in fitness instructing (QCF)
  • Level 3 Certificate in personal training (QCF)
  • Level 3 Diploma in exercise referral (QCF)
  • Level 3 Diploma in teaching yoga (QCF)
  • Level 3 Diploma in instructing Pilates matwork (QCF)
Is there a time limit for the completion of this course?
