The CIMA Professional Qualification is recognised worldwide as the most relevant global finance qualification for a career in business. On completion of the CIMA Professional Qualification, you will be awarded the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation. This showcases your professionalism, business and leadership skills, ethics and commitment. 

The Operational Level is one of 3 you need to study and complete in order to achieve the CIMA Professional Qualification. This Operational Level package includes 4 individual modules - Organisational Management, Management Accounting, Financial Reporting and Taxation, and the Operational Case Study

Successful completion of this Operational Level will contribute towards achieving the CIMA Professional Qualification.

2Course Content

The CIMA Operational Level comprises of 4 modules:

Organisational Management Module E1

  • Introduction to Organisations (25%)
  • Managing the finance function (15%)
  • Managing technology and information (15%)
  • Operations management (15)
  • Marketing (15%)
  • Managing human resources (15%)

Management Accounting module P1

  • Cost Planning and analysis for competitive advantage (25%)
  • Control and performance management of responsibility centres (30%)
  • Long-term decision making (30%)
  • Management control and risk (15%)

Financial Reporting and Taxation Module F1

  • Regulatory environment for financial reporting and corporate governance (10%)
  • Financial accounting and reporting (45%)
  • Management of working capital, cash and sources of short-term finance (20%)
  • Fundamentals of business taxation (25%)

Operational Case Study

  • Consolidates the learning from modules Organisational Management E1, Management Accounting P1 and Financial Reporting and Taxation F1 to reflect real-life work situations

Pre-requisites to enrol on the course

You must have a CIMA certificate in Business Accounting, a degree in business or accounting or an AAT Level 4 diploma. In addition, you will need 3 years of relevant practical experience; which can be gained before, during or after studies. You will need to sit a 90 minute computer based objective test at the end of modules E1, P1 and F1. Objective tests comprise of a range of items including short multiple choice questions, number entry questions, drag and drop questions and other formats. They test all component learning outcomes across the whole subject. The cost of the objective test is not included in the price of this module. You will need to complete a 3 hour long case study exam at the end of the case study module. This will create a simulated business situation for students. The exam will include pre-seen and unseen material. The cost of the case study exam is not included in the price of this module. This course is offered on a distance learning basis, with access to required study materials and unlimited support from your personal tutor via email. Study at your own pace, wherever and whenever you choose.

Course Outcome

At the end of this module successful learners will receive an Operational Level pass . This pass will count towards your overall CIMA Professional Qualification...

Students who complete all 3 levels will achieve the CIMA Professional Qualification.
