Assessment

To achieve the full Politics A Level you will be assessed across the 3 units. All units will be assessed by three paper-based examinations. A more detailed breakdown of the assessment details is provided below

  • Paper 1: UK Politics and Core Political Ideas
  • Type: Written examination
  • Duration: 2 hours
  • Marks: 84 marks available
  • Percentage: 33.3% of the total A Level
  • Assessed: Three questions

Course Duration

You will have 2 years to complete the full A Level from the date you receive your materials. You will be able to study at your own pace and in your own time without the pressure of tight deadlines.

This course enables you to study for an A Level in Politics by distance learning at home or at work. Your course materials will be sent by post or via email, you choose! Course Outcome

Is there a recommended reading list?

There is no recommended reading list for this A Level.

Do I have to sit an exam?

Yes, you will need to take the standard A Level examinations in order to fully complete this course; we will book these exams for you. The first available examination date for this syllabus is in May/June 2019.

Please note: you will need to sit these exams in the Birmingham examination centre. 

Are there any additional costs?

No, everything is included in the price! 

What if I live outside the UK?

You are still able to study this A-Level course but must take the examinations within the UK as this is the only guaranteed way to access examination centres.

What happens if I lose my course pack?

It’s not a problem. We offer a course replacement service, so if you get into trouble and your course pack is lost or damaged, our Student Support Team can provide you with a new set of materials for a one-time additional fee.
