Why you should be studying outside this summer
Living in the UK, sunny days are a rarity for us.
And after what seems like an 8-month winter, these few scarce days of sunshine is more than welcomed.
So, who made it so that exams happen to be at this time, too?
The last thing you want to be doing is staying inside to study and revise; you could be outside enjoying the fresh air and taking in your fix of those sun rays.
But why not combine the two…?
Why you should be studying outside this summer
Studying outside has a lot of benefits, both for your health and your studies. If you were to think of the ideal studying environment, outside would probably not cross many minds, but it could actually be one of the most beneficial and therapeutic spots to be found…
-
No distractions and procrastination
Nature can be one of the most relaxing places known to man – if you pick the right spot that is. There are no televisions, iPads, social media sites or random items to take your mind away from your studies. In addition, the sound of fresh air, birds chirping and natural sounds can be quite therapeutic, allowing you to relax and focus on the tasks at hand.
-
Reduces stress
Humanity has a natural affinity for other living elements, such as plants, birds, nature etc. Being around these elements allows humans to feel more comfortable, and in turn lowers stress levels. Being less stressed focuses your attention on your studies and enables you to work more efficiently.
-
Exposes you to more Vitamin D
Being out in the sun is beneficial to your health as well as studies. Exposure to sunlight ensures you can receive your necessary dose of vitamin D which is vital for your immune system and bone development as well as other functions within the body.
Spending a minimum of 10 minutes in the sun for a few days a week can provide you with a good boost of vitamin D. But remember to stay protected! Ensure you use your sunscreen and try to go out when the sun is not at its highest peak.
