Course of the Month: Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy
At Open Study College, we are constantly aiming to improve our services by listening to the needs and wants of our students. Through feedback and requests, we have added some new courses to our prospectus recently, and this month’s course that we want to highlight is…
Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy
Yes, this month we are paying special attention to the two new courses that we have recently added – yes, two! As not only can you enrol onto the Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy, you can also enrol onto the Diploma in Clinical Aromatherapy… with Practical Training.
We want to give you a little rundown of what these courses are about, and why you should enrol.
What is Aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of plants and aromatic materials to improve personal well-being or psychological problems. The plant oils and materials are therapeutic and have been used as a form of alternative medicine since the beginning of many ancient civilisations.
Many of us would have used aromatherapy without even knowing. For example:
- Have you ever used lavender oil to get yourself to sleep? This is well-known for its calming qualities and relaxes the mind.
- Heard about tea tree oil? This anti-bacterial oil is often used in facial cleansing products as it can reduce inflammation and heal acne.
- Does bergamot sound familiar? This aromatic material is extracted from citrus and can be used to relieve pain and clear congestion.
How does it work?
This Diploma is provided by Open Study College in partnership with Penny Price Academy of Aromatherapy, who are one of the UK’s leading organisations for Aromatherapy.
By now, you know how distance learning works; you study in your own time and in your own pace.
Both courses provide you with the theory of aromatherapy, the industry and the knowledge requirements of the role, however the practical version of the course also includes a 5-day practical training course to practice and develop your skills. On completion of the course, you will be able to practice professionally as an aromatherapist.
There’s so much more we could tell you, and we will. Keep an eye out on social media throughout the month for some more information on this course and why you should enrol.
