5 Tips to eliminate study stress

Are you stressing over your studies? Then these 5 tips will help you stay motivated, healthy, improve your memory and most of all eliminate study stress!

Eat right!

It is essential that you eat a balanced diet whilst studying. Not only does this improve your health but it also helps alertness and memory. Some great foods include: fish, eggs, greens, fruit and even peanut butter!

Get enough sleep

A good night’s sleep helps improve thinking and concentration. You should aim at getting 8-10 hours’ sleep every night. Lack of adequate sleep affects mood, motivation, judgement, and your perception of events. So get your 8 hours!

Use techniques that work

There’s nothing worse than spending hours revising a topic and forgetting it an hour after. Find the study strategies that work for you. Try different techniques including note taking, quizzes, flash cards, diagrams and mind mapping. This will then make obtaining information easier.

Exercise

Exercise helps boost energy levels, clears the mind and relieves stress. Whether its walking, cycling, running or swimming, any type of physical activity will help you relax. Exercising in your study breaks is a great way to get you to feel better about yourself and freshen up your mind.

Take a break

Constant studying may have negative effects. You need to give your brain a rest, so don’t forget to take a break. This helps reinvigorate your brain so that you are ready to come back to your work with a boost of energy.
Good luck with your studies!
