Take the Stairs
A simple tip is to avoid those elevators! Statistics show that by using the stairs you burn 7 times more calories than taking the lift.
Decrease your carbohydrate intake at night
At night you will not need to refuel your body, as you will be inactive. Therefore by cutting down your carbohydrate intake it will store less body fat.
Eat those all-important Vegetables
By eating more vegetables, it will help you stay fuller for longer. This means snacking won’t be necessary. The best vegetables to eat include: Kale, Spinach and Broccoli.
Don’t skip meals
Skipping your meals will result in you eating more later on, as you’ll be hungrier. You should aim at eating six small meals a day. Also always remember to have a healthy breakfast, as you will be less likely to snack before lunch. Kick start your metabolism for the day!
Do your maths
If you do your maths you could lose 1-2 lbs a week. You should aim at being in a 500-calorie deficit every day. For example: You may choose to eat 250 calories fewer than your recommended amount and then do a workout which burns another 250 calories. Just doing 30 minutes of exercise a day, can result in 100 calories being burned. That’s better than no calories!
Hit the weights
Muscle at rest burns more calories than fat at rest. Increasing your muscle mass helps you lose weight more efficiently. The more muscle you have, the more fat you will burn.
Drink more water
Put down all of those drinks which are full of calories such as milk, juices and soft drinks. Water has no calories, so drink more of the good stuff!
Swap those extra-large whole milk lattes or cappuccinos that are full of calories, for a regular size coffee with lower fat milk with fewer calories. It will also save you money! By swapping a big dinner plate to a smaller one, will mean eating a smaller portion. In addition it will look like you have more food on your plate too, bonus!
Don’t be greedy
Once you have eaten your food, don’t go back for seconds. Feel satisfied not stuffed!
Avoid the TV
When eating in front of the TV we eat more without noticing or even enjoying it. Why not swap the TV for the table?
