"I didn't study it at sixth form but wanted to study it now..."
"As my life has progressed I have come to depend more and more on maths and I've discovered or developed a proficiancy that I probably didn't have about 5 years ago when I was at college. So I wondered if it would be possible to study A-Level Maths in my spare time and to my pleasant surprise I found that not only could I do that, I could study the bulk of the course from home and submit my work to a tutor via email or post.
It was easy enough to find a local exam centre so I could take the A-Level exam.
It's obviously quite an intense subject to study via distance learning and I can imagine some subjects working easier than others, but my tutor was very supportive and it's an extra A-Level on my CV now.
I think the best aspect of studying a course like this by home learning is that it enables everyone to have a second chance to study new skills or use as a launchpad onto a university. Highly recommended."
"I needed an extra A-Level to get into University"
"I wasn't originally intending to go to University as I really didn't like my third A-Level subject at college and I didn't get a very good grade so when the summer kicked in I wasn't sure what to do as I needed more UCAS points to get onto the course that I wanted.
I heard you could study A-Levels at home and although you need to be quite disciplined with yourself, I found it enjoyable. It covers the usual A-Level Maths syllabus and at the end of the course you'll need to find a local examination centre (that's easy enough to do). When I finished I had an extra recognized qualification on my CV so I could get onto the course I wanted."
