What our previous students think...

1000's of people of all ages have enrolled and completed courses with Open Study College, and here are some reviews we've received about this course.

5 stars"I'm not too old to have a job I love"

Janet Gibson, Dundee, studied - Teaching Assistant Level 3

I had recently been made redundant from my job in retail. I had toyed with the idea of becoming a dinner lady at my grandchild’s school (or a School Meal Supervisory Assistant as they like to call it!) My daughter reassured me that I wasn’t too old to study as a qualified teaching assistant. Now I have just started my new TA role and not only do I get to do a job I love but I can see my grandchild every day.

4 stars"Life's too short!"

Lucy Reynolds, Hereford, studied - Teaching Assistant Level 3

I love children and felt unfulfilled in my role at a solicitor firm. I decided that life was too short to be stuck in a job that I didn’t enjoy. I finished the course and now I have been offered a job at my local primary school, helping children with learning difficulties.

4 stars"I was able to choose two specialist subjects"

Heidi Chapman, Preston, studied - Teaching Assistant Level 3

I enjoyed the fact that there were five compulsory units but I also had the choice to pick the next two units, which allowed me to specialise in subjects such as supporting disabled children or I.T.

I studied from the comfort of my own home and found that just studying an hour to two hours a day was plenty of time to complete.

3 stars""

Margaret Cramsie, studied - Teaching Assistant Level 3

I have found the questions are complicated and not easy to complete as I don't work in or at school.
