Students and staff at Open Study College have helped raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support this year as part of an ongoing campaign to help those diagnosed with the illness.
A donation has been made for every new student enrolment in 2011 and the College has already surpassed its agreed £5,000 donation target, which is set to be doubled by the end of the year.
Members of staff also raised funds by completing the Great Midlands Fun Run in June, running a 10-kilometre route through Sutton Park in Birmingham.
Cat Yates, Fundraising Manager for Macmillan, said: “This is a sizeable donation that will make a real difference to people whose lives are affected by cancer. We are incredibly grateful for the support of both students and staff at Open Study College and hope to build on this success by working on more charitable projects with them in the future.”
