Record Breaking A-Level Results Boost Interest in Distance Learning

Record-breaking A-Level results will lead to a surge in the number of enrolments on distance learning courses according to UK-based learning provider Open Study College.

Millions of people have woken up to TV pictures of students opening their results and this inspires people to look at studying an A-Level.

Steven Nash, Online Marketing Manager said “There’s a lot of TV coverage and it makes people think about learning extra skills, and if you are already employed, distance learning allows you to study at your own pace.”

Analysis obtained from Google Trends reveals a huge spike in A-Level related searches on last year’s results day- a pattern confirmed by Open Study College, “We saw 4.5 times as many people browsing our A-Level courses on results day last year.”

This extra interest combined with the appetite to add extra qualifications during the economic downturn should make this a record-breaking year for distance learning.
