The course has been endorsed under the ABC Awards’ Quality Licence Scheme.  This means that Open Study College has undergone an external quality check to ensure that the organisation and the courses it offers, meet certain quality criteria.  The completion of this course alone does not lead to an Ofqual regulated qualification but may be used as evidence of knowledge and skills towards regulated qualifications in the future. The unit summary can be used as evidence towards Recognition of Prior Learning if you wish to progress your studies in this sector. To this end the learning outcomes of the course have been benchmarked at Level 3 against level descriptors published by Ofqual, to indicate the depth of study and level of difficulty involved in successful completion by the learner.

The course itself has been designed by Open Study College to meet specific learners’ or employers’ requirements.  ABC Awards’ endorsement involves a robust and rigorous quality audit by external inspectors to ensure quality is consistently met.  A regular review of courses is carried out as part of the endorsement process.

ABC Awards is a leading national Awarding Organisation, regulated by Ofqual, and the Welsh Government. They have a comprehensive portfolio of over 650 Ofqual regulated qualifications on the national Qualifications and Credit framework (QCF). It has a long-established reputation for developing and awarding high quality vocational qualifications across a wide range of industries.   As a registered charity, ABC Awards combines 180 years of examination and assessment expertise but also implements a responsive, flexible and innovative approach to the needs of our customers.

Reviews for this course

"This is the best way for study"
Hina Ikbal, Wembley

I have enrolled on the teaching assitant level 3, I'm pretty comfortable with material and it's understandable, I found it difficult but keep reading everyday it helps me to understand the course material, I'm quite sure I can get good results and tutor support is exellent. I always wanted to become a teacher, its my dream and this is the best way for studying and a great opportunity for me to study with open study college. Thank you.

"It has given me confidence "
Rachael Johnston, Warrington

I think that the course is really good - I think it helps I've been volunteering in Early Years for a few years which has given me the confidence to complete assignments and use personal examples. I would think it would be better if you could go back into the units without having to "restart" unit and it always been available. Tutor support is good - only needed in when I've sent of assignments and found the feedback useful. I'm doing other courses as well at the moment so I'm happy with the marks I am getting especially with what else I have on. I've always wanted to study as TA course but never had the confidence to actually do it, but lots of people over the past year have told me to get the qualification in a way that would be good for me. The School I help at as also been really supportive and have helped improve my confidence.

"Opened up a whole new world of learning for me"
Maureen Harrison, Retford

On first sight I thought "I will never be able to do that", but once I got going I found it to be relatively easy to follow. There was so much information to take in that I had to read the notes a couple of times before it sunk in. While reading, I found that the information given took me in several directions when looking on the internet for evidence for my essay.

I have learned so much and I find myself watching the children I work with a lot more closely looking for confirmation of my findings. I am quite a bit older than the students in my school but this course has opened up a whole new world of learning for me.
