Assessment
Each element is followed by a written assignment, which is submitted and marked by your tutor. Upon successful completion of the assignments you will be eligible for the NNCFE Diploma. Please note that students assessments are moderated three times per year by NNCFE. Submission dates and deadlines for moderation are fully detailed in the student study pack. Assessment for the EDI qualification is through one multi-choice end-test per unit [five in total]. These must be arranged by the student at a local EDI examination centre and at the student`s own cost. Full details of the EDI assessment procedure are contained in the student study pack. This qualification can also provide evidence of underpinning knowledge towards the achievement of the NCFE EDI Level 3 National Vocational Qualification Children`s Care, Learning and Development.
Study Method
The course is designed for study by distance learning at work or at home. Students receive course manual, assignments, studyguide and a full stationary pack including a quality record bag and folders to hold all of your home study materials in plus tutor support by mail and email. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to 12 months from the time of registration.
Course Duration
Students may register at any time and have a full 12 months to complete their studies. The course will take around 150 hours of study to complete and can be completed over any timescale convenient to the student subject to the moderation and examination dates set by the awarding bodies.
Qualifications / Accreditations
A successfully completed course leads to a Level 3 validated course in Child Care Learning & Development from NCFE EDI; a leading UK awarding body recognised by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority.

Q: What skills are needed to enrol onto this course?
You do not need any previous knowledge to enrol onto this course.
Q: Is there a time limit for completion of this course?
We provide you with a full 12 months to complete your home learning course, this is a lot more time than you need so that you can study at your own pace and in your own time without the pressure of tight deadlines, this course is truly flexible and aimed at being adaptable around your lifestyle.

Q: Do I have to sit an exam?
Yes. To obtain the full EDI qualification you will have to sit a series of 5 multi-choice exams. These need to be sat at your local school or college.

Yes, there is an additional cost for the cost of the exams.
Q: How do I get my work assessed?
Every student is issued with envelopes in order to return your completed work to us. Once we receive your work we will mark it and return it to you. On successful completion of the course you will be awarded your certification proving your success in the chosen subject.
