Massage for Special Needs Level 3

This course is ideal for anyone wanting to start a career in Massage for Special Needs. Not only will you be taught how to work with people with special needs, you will also be helping to teach themselves so they can do this on their own. Massage allows you to use different parts of your body to ease pain, relax and bring lots of benefits to the human body, using your hands, arms and elbows to improve muscle and skin tone and circulation.

You may want to look in to completing a follow on course in a specialist area such as Indian Head Massage. This will enable you to put the skills learnt from this course in to practice.

On completion of the course, you can apply for membership to the Society of Holistic Therapists and Coaches (SHTC). Students will also be able to use the letter SHTC after their name, showing you have successfully completed a course to the recognised standards.

Course Duration

This home learning course will take approximately 120 hours and there is no time limit for completion.

Assessment

The Massage for Special Needs course assessment takes the form of a series of written assignments, which are submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination required.

Study Method

The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. Students receive a course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail or email. You can start at any time and there are no time limits on this course.

Qualifications

At the end of this course successful learners will receive a level 3 NCFE Award certificate of achievement. That means that it is independently accredited at a level of learning equivalent to level 3 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland (in which case GCSE's are at levels 1 and 2 and A Levels are at level 3).

This award has been designed to meet specific learners' or employers' requirements. Accreditation by NCFE is a guarantee of quality. It means that this learning programme has been scrutinised and approved by an independent panel of experienced educational professionals and is quality audited biannually by NCFE.
