3) Customer Care and Working Procedures

  • Deal with customers and colleagues
  • Identify the essential personal skills required when working in the travel and tourism industry
  • Follow basic procedures when handling enquiries, making reservations and receiving money
  • Use reference sources to obtain information
  • Explore presentation and promotion of tourist facilities

4) Travel and Tourism Products and Services

  • Explore the roles of tour operators and travel agents
  • Describe support facilities for travel and tourism
  • Explore the features of worldwide transport in relation to major international routes

5) The Role and Function of Marketing and Promotion in Travel and Tourism

Assessment

  • Paper 1: Written Examination: Units 1-4 worth 60%
  • Paper 2: Written Examination: Unit 5 worth 40%

The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. Your IGCSE course materials will be sent out in the post.. You will also be required to submit tutor-marked assignments in order for you to progress effectively.
