Course Duration
Students may register at any time and have a full year to complete their studies. Study time is 80 hours.
Assessment
The course will take the form of a series of written assignments which are submitted and marked by your tutor. If you wish to gain the formal ICB qualification you will also need to sit an online exam which is home based.
Study Method
The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration.
Qualifications
With this bookkeeping course you have two options:
1) The course can be studied for personal interest and development without assessment and we can provide you with a completion certificate.
2) Open Study College is an Accredited Training Provider of the ICB and the course covers the requirements of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Level I in Manual Bookkeeping qualification. On successful completion of the course you will gain an OSCA (Open Study College Award) and be able to sit an online exam with the ICB. On successful completion of the exam you will gain an official ICB level I certificate. The exam can be taken at any time.

Q: Do I have to sit an exam?
You have the option of sitting the ICB examination to gain the full qualification. However, if you choose not to we can issue you with a certificate proving that you have completed the course.
