This course will take you through every step of computerised bookkeeping to prepare you for the ICB Level 2 examinations.
This course is completed using SAGE software which comes with your course pack at no extra cost.
The ICB are the worlds largest Bookkeeping institute with 250,000 members worldwide. You will also be in very good company joining the ICB as the patron is Prince Michael of Kent, giving this qualification excellent credibility and recognition.
Once you have completed this course you will be ready to take the ICB Level 2 Bookkeeping examination. The ICB are the "Institute of Certified Bookkeepers."
Course Content
The course is divided up into 9 modules:
- Software overview
- Company setup
- Customer & suppliers setup
- Opening balances
- Business/source document design
- Invoices, credit notes, & cash transactions
- Sales/purchases & bank reconciliation
- Adjustments, Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, VAT Return & Corrections
- Accounting for Non-Profit Making Organisations
Course Duration
Students may register at any time and have 6 months to complete their studies.
Assessment
The course will take the form of a series of written assignments which are submitted and marked by your tutor. If you wish to gain the formal ICB qualification you will also need to sit an exam online, which can be taken at any time.
Study Method
The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to 6 months from the time of registration.
Qualifications
With this bookkeeping course you have two options:
The course can be studied for personal interest and development without assessment and we can provide you with a completion certificate.
However the course covers the requirements of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers Level II in Computerised Bookkeeping. On successful completion of the course you will gain an official ICB level II certificate in computerised bookkeeping and an OSCA (Open Study College Award).
Students must register independently with the ICB. Membership and examination fees are payable to the ICB and are not included in the course price.

Q: Do I have to sit an exam?
You have the option of sitting the ICB examination to gain the full qualification however if you choose not to we can issue you with a certificate proving that you have completed the course.
Q: Are there any additional costs?
If you decide to sit the ICB exam then there will be a small charge to do this of £25. There is also a fee of £45 to become a registered student of the ICB; an application form is included within your course pack.
