Study Method

The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. Students receive a course manuals and study guide plus tutor support by telephone, mail or email. Your A-level course materials will be sent out in the post and once you enrol on this A-Level course, you will receive a welcome telephone call from your course tutor who will spend some time talking you through the course.

Qualifications

This course prepares candidates for the AQA Law AS level syllabus 1161, for examination in 2010 and later years. Most candidates will then study the A2 syllabus 2161.The full A Level qualification comprises AS and A2. This syllabus is very well suited to distance learning.

Assessment is by 4 written exam papers. 2 are taken for the AS level and then a further 2 are taken for the full A Level.

Yes! You study the same coursework, take the same examinations and get the same qualification, the difference is that the course is designed to be studied from home and our expert tutor support is available via the telephone and email.

Q: What skills are needed to enrol onto this course?

You will preferably have a reasonable grade GCSE or "O" Level in Law as the concepts in the A-Level Law course follow on and use some of the knowledge you will have gained, this is not essential and don't be discouraged if you don't have this qualification already.

Q: Is there a time limit for completion of this course?

We provide you with a full 24 months to complete your home learning course, this is a lot more time than you need so that you can study at your own pace and in your own time without the pressure of tight deadlines – this course is truly flexible and aimed at being adaptable around your lifestyle.

Q: Do I have to sit an exam?

Yes, you will need to take the standard A-Level examinations in order to fully complete this course. The examinations run on specific dates which can be obtained by visiting the AQA website. You will be required to book these examinations yourself and so we can provide a list of over 400 A-Level test centres around the country.

Q: Are there any additional costs?

You will need to purchase the books listed above and you will generally be required to pay a small fee to take your examinations at the examining centre that you choose.

Q: What if I live outside the UK?

You are still able to study this A-Level course. You will however be required to take the examinations within the UK.

Q: How do I get my work assessed?

Every student is issued with envelopes in order to return your completed coursework to us. Once we receive your coursework we will mark it and return it to you.
