How long do I have to complete my course?
There is no specific time limit to complete your home learning course. Your only real deadlines are the OCR A-Level examinations which take place every year during the summer. You can book these examinations when you are ready. Students are advised to contact exam centres, as cut off dates for exams do change. College and 6th forms allow 18 months for full completion of the A Level so we suggest that you aim to complete within this time.
We also offer a service where we guarantee to priortise marking of coursework so students are fully ready to take exams in January and June of each year to enable students to complete the A-Level in one year.
Do I have to take an exam?
You will need to take the standard A-Level examinations in order to fully complete this course.
The examinations run on specific dates which can be obtained by visiting the OCR website. It is the students responsibility to register with a centre and book and pay for examinations. Students may also wish to approach local schools and colleges to see if they are willing to take you as a private candidate. We can also provide students with a list of recommended centres who accept private candidates.
What qualification will I achieve?
This course prepares students for OCR A-Level Health & Social Care examination for 2012 and later years. Once you have successfully completed the examinations you will receive an A-Level in Health & Social Care. This is the same A-Level that you would achieve from higher education in a 6th form or college.
Do I need any previous knowledge?
Student will need at least a C grade in GCSE English reading and writing. A GCSE grade in Health and Social Care is also desirable but not essential.
Is there a required reading list?
