This is the ASET Diploma in Human Physiology and Health. By studying for this course you will be able to increase your understanding of the physical structure of the human body, enable you to maintain your health better through an improved knowledge of the way your body functions, help you understand the physical and chemical ways in which humans resemble other organisms. This course will also allow you to apply sound scientific principles to the ways in which you obtain and use information, enable you to interpret data accurately, help you to design investigations and to know how the results can enable you to draw different conclusions, understand the principles behind a control experiment, and why they are often essential to draw meaningful results.

Unit 15: Genetics
Unit 16: Variation and Selection

Module 6: Humans and their Environment

Unit 17: Micro-Organisms and Health
Unit 18: Defence of the Body against Infection and Illness
Unit 19: Treating Injury and Illness
Unit 20: Human Populations and Ecosystems
Unit 21: Practical Ecology

Course Duration

Students may register at any time and have a full year to complete their studies.

Assessments

The course will take the form of a series of written assignments which are submitted and marked by your tutor. There is no external examination.

Study Method

The course is designed for study by distance learning at home or at work. Students receive a course manual, assignments and study guide plus tutor support by mail or email. You can start at any time and plan your studies over a period of up to one year from the time of registration.
