What are IGCSEs?

  • IGCSE stands for International General Certificate of Secondary Education and is equivalent to a traditional UK GCSE.
  • IGCSE is the worlds most popular qualification for secondary school students.
  • IGCSEs are typically studied by students aged 14-16, and used as access to further education.
  • IGCSEs can also be applied for at any time, by anybody who wishes to become qualified to an international standard.
  • IGCSE grades range from D-G (level 1) and A*-C (Level 2).

Why choose IGCSEs?

  • Employers, universities and colleges will almost always require applicants to have specific GCSE or IGCSE grades of C or above.
  • The IGCSE is recognised internationally, in over 100 countries, and provides evidence of ability worldwide, not just in the UK.
  • The IGCSE aims to develop vital educational skills, including recall of knowledge, oral skills, problem solving, initiative, team work and investigative skills.
  • IGCSEs are provided by and regulated by the Cambridge and Edexcel, adding extra validity to the qualification.
