What is BTEC?

  • BTEC stands for Business Technician Education Council and was formed in 1984.
  • BTEC provides courses for British vocational qualifications based on manual or practical activities that prepare students for the workplace.
  • They are equivalent to other qualifications such as GCSE, A Level and university degrees.

Why choose BTEC?

  • BTECs are suited to people who do not wish to have a formal examination, as assessment is entirely coursework-based.
  • The BTEC level 3 courses are equivalent to a full A-Level.
  • BTEC qualifications can be converted to UCAS points for university applicants.
  • Demonstrate to potential employers that you are educated to a nationally-recognised standard.
