What are A-Levels?

A-Levels are a traditional UK qualification and are highly regarded by Educators and Employers alike. A Levels are typically studied by school leavers aged 16-18 and are used as access to University. However mature students are also highly encouraged.

How many subjects can I take?

There is no official limit to how many A-Level courses you should take. As a rough guideline, a top University will require up to 4 good grades, although many other well respected Universities will accept fewer than this.

How do A Levels work?

Generally an A Level will consist of 6 units that are studied in two seperate parts; AS Level and A2 level. People generally call an AS Level "half an A-Level" and as the name suggests it hold half of thew weight of a full A level. To turn an AS level into a full A Level you need to the complete the A2 components of the course.

This equestions sums up the relationship between the AS and A2 components:

AS Level Biology + A2 Level Biology = A Level Biology
